About the job

As the Store Manager for a fashion brand specializing in ladies shoes and handbags, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, maximizing sales, and leading a team of sales associates. Your role will involve maintaining visual merchandising standards, managing inventory, and achieving sales targets while upholding the brand image and promoting customer loyalty.

  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a team of sales associates.
  • Set performance targets, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and cooperation.
  • Store Operations:
  • Ensure the store operates efficiently and effectively, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage daily store activities, including opening and closing procedures, cash management, and security protocols.
  • Implement visual merchandising guidelines to maintain an appealing and customer-friendly store environment.
  • Regularly assess and improve store layout and displays to enhance product visibility and promote sales.
  • Sales and Customer Service:
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and providing product knowledge to customers.
  • Drive sales by developing strategies, setting targets, and implementing promotional activities.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities to improve sales and achieve targets.
  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Inventory and Stock Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Analyze sales trends and customer demand to optimize stock levels and minimize stock outs or overstock situations.
  • Implement inventory control measures, including stock replenishment, stock transfers, and returns.
  • Reporting and Administration:
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, operational reports, and other requested documentation.
  • Monitor and control store expenses within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with the head office on merchandise assortment planning, marketing initiatives, and new product launches.

Requirements – Previous experience of 5+ years as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in the fashion retail industry, preferably in ladies shoes and handbags.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of visual merchandising principles.
  • Proficient in inventory management and stock control.
  • Familiarity with retail software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
